Snowbird escape
Second year we’ve booked this house for the winter and honestly we don’t look elsewhere anymore. Comfortable, quiet, warm in the sun, cool at night, and that view never gets old. Team VARE has us on their list, which we appreciate.
Escape from Chicago winter
Flew out from Chicago for ten days of not-shoveling-snow. This house delivered — pool was heated, morning sun on the patio was medicinal, and the walkable distance to Old Town La Quinta made evenings easy.
Cozy winter escape
Ran away from a rough winter and Sunset Ridge Cabin was the antidote. Small, warm, well-designed, with a fireplace and heated floors in the bathroom (chef’s kiss). Slept twelve hours the first night. Would repeat annually.
Snowbird stay, one month
First time trying La Quinta for a winter month instead of Palm Springs — and we will never go back. Thunder Mountain was clean, well-equipped, and the mountain views made every morning feel like a vacation photo.
Landscape photography trip
I shoot desert light for a living and this house is in one of the best positions I’ve found. Twenty minutes to hidden canyons, big open sky, and the light coming into the house itself makes for good indoor work too.
Quiet Christmas
Family of four, no in-laws for once, and we wanted a low-key Christmas. Hidden Valley was ideal — the kids swam in the pool on Christmas Day (their heads exploded), we cooked in, watched movies, forgot what stress felt like.
Family Christmas
We’ve been trying to figure out where to spend Christmas as a family for years. Mountain Memories will now be that place. Enough bedrooms, big enough kitchen, and the mountain views make the whole thing feel like a postcard.
Christmas week 2025
Christmas at The Palms — three generations, big dinners, quiet mornings. Kitchen is well-stocked, pool was heated, and the house has enough distinct spaces that people could retreat when they needed to. Would rebook for 2026.
Perfect for Thanksgiving
Rented for the whole family — three generations, nine people, still felt like there was room to breathe. Kitchen handled a full turkey dinner without complaint. Kids loved the pool, adults loved the mountain views from the patio.
Family Thanksgiving
Ten people, one big house, all our own kitchen for the day. Mountain Majesty is set up for it — huge dining table, three ovens between the main and outdoor kitchens, and enough sofas that everyone could fall asleep watching the game.
Bachelor party, low-key
Fourteen guys, three days, one house — sounds like a mess, was actually great. Enough bedrooms + a couple of couches, a pool that fit the whole squad, walking distance to a couple of decent spots in town for dinner.
