Golf trip, PGA West
Stayed for a Signature/Nicklaus/Norman three-round trip. Ten minutes to the tee, house had a putting-green feel to it (small, but nice touch), and a huge back patio that took the whole crew.
Coachella but privately
Everyone else was crammed into party houses and Airbnbs a mile from us. We had a private pool, a hot tub, and full silence when we came home from the festival at 2am. Perfect antidote to the crowds.
Coachella weekend, no regrets
Six of us booked for Coachella weekend and this house was the best decision we made all trip. Ten minutes to the polo fields, private pool for the afternoon recovery, huge kitchen where we prepped every morning. Beds were legit. Book it.
Executive team offsite
Brought my team out for a three-day offsite. House is set up to work — dining table doubles as a conference table, good Wi-Fi throughout, and enough breakout space that people could get quiet time between sessions. Would rebook.
Kids’ spring break
Two families with kids ages 6, 8, and 10. Booked for their spring break week. Between the pool, the yard, and the trampoline (bonus), we barely had to plan a single activity. The parents got to sit in the sun. Everyone won.
Multi-gen family trip
Grandparents, parents, and three kids under 10. Palms was one of the few houses I could find that worked for all of us — single level, safe pool area, walking distance to a good playground. Grandma loved the palm-lined driveway.
Four-family reunion
Four of us and our families haven’t all been together in five years. Booked Mountain Memories for a long weekend to change that. Kitchen fed sixteen people every night, pool fit all the kids, and grandparents got to sit and watch. Perfect.
Wildflower super bloom trip
Timed our trip for the super bloom and this house was the right home base. Fifteen minutes to the trailheads, backyard opens onto the mountains, morning coffee outside was the best part of every day. Really thoughtful little house.
Fall couples getaway
Four couples, one house, first trip together since college. High Desert Haven fit us perfectly — enough space to spread out, a pool + hot tub that took everyone, and a fire pit that got a lot of use.
50th birthday weekend
Booked for my wife’s 50th, brought twelve people. House handled it: enough beds, three bathrooms, a kitchen we cooked breakfast in every day. And that mountain view from the patio during the dinner we hosted — nobody’s talked about anything else since.
Retirement toast weekend
Booked to celebrate my dad’s retirement — small group, six people, low-key vibe. Sunset Ridge was ideal. Cabin feel without being remote, close to town for dinners, and that sunset on the last night was the best toast we made all weekend.
Golf trip HQ
Four buddies, four rounds at PGA West, one house that made it all effortless. Enough bathrooms that nobody waited, a fridge big enough for the case-of-beer strategy, and a fire pit we used every night. Already talking about next year.
Guys golf trip
Eight of us, three rounds, one house. Mountain Majesty fit us with room to spare — pool for after, hot tub for later, and the mountain view is the kind of thing that makes you shut up mid-swing. Booking again next year, same weekend.
Sunrise view lovers
The east-facing patio is what you’re paying for — sunrise hitting the Santa Rosas turns the whole sky pink and it wakes you up in the best possible way. Coffee, that view, no phone. Perfect.
Girls trip / spa mode
Five of us for a long weekend of pool, take-out, and a spa day at La Quinta Resort. House had everything we needed and then some. Loved the outdoor shower — did not expect to use it, ended up using it every day.
Grandkids visit
First time hosting our four grandkids solo for a week. Mountain Memories has the perfect combination of a safe pool area, plenty of space, and enough distance between the master and the kids’ rooms that we could actually sleep.
Star-gazing weekend
Drove out with our telescope and this house delivered on the dark-sky front. Backyard opens toward the mountains, minimal ambient light, and the interior had a warm, cozy feel we could retreat to when the desert chill kicked in.
Golf + views combo
Booked for a golf trip and the mountain views made it a double-win. Course in the morning, patio in the afternoon, and the sunset on the Santa Rosas from the backyard is a legit sight. Golf-buddies still talk about it.
Family reunion, mountain views
Fifteen of us across three houses in La Quinta. Cathedral View was the one everyone kept ending up at — the patio, the pool, and (you guessed it) the view. Team VARE was responsive when we needed anything.
Valentine’s weekend
Booked as a surprise. She thought we were staying in a resort until the driver turned into the driveway of a private home. Her face was the best gift I could have given her that year.
